@.immallama: The Sapporo Snow Festival is a yearly winter event in Sapporo ❄️✨ it usually takes place in early February and runs for about 7 to 8 days. It’s known for its huge snow and ice sculptures, and it’s amazing to see how detailed and creative they are! 🫡 Many of them are inspired by anime, popular characters and local culture. The festival actually started many years ago with just a few snow statues made by students, and now it has grown into one of the biggest winter events in Japan ☃️ We went on the first day, so we could still see people building the snow and ice sculptures right in front of us 🥺 It was really cool to watch the process! We walked around Odori Park and Susukino, where most of the festival takes place.
