I use a different tactic: 1️⃣ I cut off contact with the person spreading gossip—no access, no updates. 2️⃣ When others mention what’s being said or that person, I genuinely have deniability: “I don’t know (what’s being said or anything about that person), I haven’t been in contact for a long time.” 3️⃣ I just show up and stay consistent. Gossip dies when there’s no access and no reaction. This is social judo: you don’t fight the rumor, you remove the mat.

I don't engage or investigate when people gossip about me, I don't care what goes on in the lives of people below me. But I've always said to people who come to me to gossip about somebody,"Did you know people who gossip use it like a binky to sooth their deep insecurities?" Then stay silent. works.. every...time
