That means their bodies, measured by markers like blood pressure, grip strength, and walking speed, were functioning younger than their birthdays suggested, and the effect held up even after accounting for income and health. Researchers say the benefit may rival regular exercise, and they point to three reasons: cultural outings build social connection, boost mood and mental health, and get you up and moving. One honest caveat, this shows a link, not proof, and it does not literally add three years to your lifespan. Still, the takeaway is lovely and doable: getting out, being around people, and feeding your mind are genuine investments in healthy aging. So go see that film, ideally with a friend.
