I admit in the past that I was trying to show how I understood/related by sharing a like experience (an AuDHD trait later explained to me by my therapist) can be misconstrued as being self-centered & non-empathetic. That has been something I've been working on; practicing the power of the pause. Realizing my silence & listening IS showing I care just as much as if I was relating to them. A social cue I was never shown or taught or even explained correctly; I was just told I was self centered. Thank you for sharing this MUCH needed message & giving space for healthy discussion & awareness. 🥰🥰🥰
