I thought for the DMD you do 2 extra years so it would be 6 total compared to the regular DDS which is 4 years. And for the DMD you basically go through medical school as well

As someone who previously lived out west, I will say you typically see DDS in texas and out west and DMD more in the east. Maybe I’m wrong, just my observation.

Vet schools are like that too. Mostly they are DVM's but UPenn gives VMD Veterinariae Medicinae Doctoris.
