That’s no not true lol I live in Japan and use my SUICA card without any issues on my phone btw AND you can also have a physical IC card in case you run out of battery on your phone or smth

You can actually reload your IC card wallet in any convenience store and even 7eleven or lawson atm machines. If you’re in bus you can ask the driver to load your ic too.

U can recharge your IC on phone at any connivence store paying cash at the counter , or at the ticket machine by placing phone under the sensor and entering cash into the ticket machine , and u can charge it at the ATM at 7/11 sane way

i used my suica on my iphone for 3 weeks straight, I’d top it off anywhere and whenever. Every single station, bus had IC card support. It’s honestly so much better than having a physical card

I had no problem topping up and using my suica via Apple Pay. All stations have lanes for IC, i didnt even have to turn on my phone to use….

You can reload the card from the phone at 7 eleven or train stations. The sensor will pick it up from the phone the same as a physical card
