Starting with Dragonball is the move, technically you can start with Z but half of the Z fighters are going to have lore and character building you’ll miss if you skip it.

anyone who says "start with z" is *not* a fan of Dragonball. pre-timeskip Dragonball lends *so much* essential characterization and themeing to the story that underlies the series as a whole, even into super; That starting post-time skip ("Z") is unintentionally going to make you enjoy Dragonball *less* than you originally would have

when you start with Dragon ball you'll already know more than the fans who start with Z just for the fights, there's so much more to it especially the sense of adventure and the comedy (which is definitely subjective and of its time) i hope you enjoy it tho 🔥

I actually started with SUPER because that's where my dad started 💀😭 so obviously I was incredibly confused for a good while but I quickly grew to love it. Then we went back to Z, and I loved it even more. We stopped after the third arc, and I ended up reading the manga from og dragon ball and adored it, and I'm currently caught up to where we left off the z anime. I just love this series so much

To really know Goku n his friends, you really need to start at Dragon Ball. You gonna have an amazing time n journey watching it. I feel bad for ppl who refuse to watch it from the beginning because they truly don’t know the history behind Dragon Ball and this very series started the whole franchise

Original dragon ball is so underated but there are some questionable characters (weird old man) but it’s a good thing you started with the original because so many people start with z and say “dragon ball has no writing” but they skipped half the show it like starting bleach of with 1000 year blood war.🙏
