My son had an ileostomy for 6 months. It was HARD. You guys are SO strong. My son just got it reversed on Christmas Eve. And the recovery has been HARD. Still today.

I’m so glad you are both able to be healthy with your allotted intestines! I have celiac disease which affects my small intestine and it caused so many growth issues due to malnutrition. It’s nice to know I’m not the only adult walking around in children’s shoes though 😂

Also, with the ileostomy and colostomy, does the twin without the small intestine, have they ever had issues with malnutrition in the sense of absorption? I asked as a premed student, knowing that the small intestine is where all of the nutritional absorption happens.
