it was most of our first campaigns and the DM's second, and Idk how magic characters work but apparently our necromancer was secretly trying to become a lich. when the party got sweeped he I don't remember what he did he beat the "BBEG" and that's where they decided to finish it. next campaign after figuring out how to actually play the game, we find out the new main antagonist is that necromancer lich with our characters as undead generals. Too bad we still don't understand DnD well, died halfway through
