Throughout history, all Ethiopians have moved from one place to another. The Oromo moved from Bale and Borana. The Agaw soldiers or the Amhara moved to other parts of Ethiopia from a small area known as Beta Amhara, in what is now Wollo. Population movement has always been part of Ethiopian history. I do not understand why people single out the Oromo (Galla) and speak of them as if they invaded Ethiopia from somewhere else. Ancient Ethiopia was centered in the north, while much of the rest of the land was sparsely populated. Movement and settlement happened over time, not invasion.The somali and afars moved with their cattle just like the gallas.
