My older brother told me not to seat BTZ, it was "impossible". That drove me many years ago. Showed up humble and willing to learn and work. Did tasks asked of me without complaint, and took ownership to do what needed to be done without being told. Studied CDCs during downtime to pass without issue. Got involved with volunteer opportunities, played Squadron sports, and took college classes after passing CDCs. Got orders to PCS my first year at my first base, but my BTZ board hit during PCS. Got a call once I got overseas to notify me I had won it even though I was gone. Was pumped, and it allowed me to test for Staff a year earlier because of when I was able to sew on SrA because of BTZ. Stayed focused and studied my ass ass t I get Staff first time. Its all howbmuch you put into it, but stay humble and treat EVERYONE equal and fair.

My daughter made BTZ, hearing about the process was wild. She worked really hard to do well with the interviews and studied so much. She always gave her team the credit and her leadership.

Good advice. My experience BTZ is political and who they like. Not on who deserves it. If you volunteer and be active you have a better chance.

I earned BTZ…had a AirForce Achievement Medal and superior performer during an inspection. Lots of unique opportunities. Leadership believed in me!

I got BTZ while stationed in Japan. Had a great supervisor who set the example and helped me seek opportunities. I volunteered for lots of things!

Was the only A1C in my group selected for BTZ, during my time. Best part was I made BTZ before my ex-husband. He hated it. Was a rope in tech school, volunteered with base community organizations, served on dining in/dining out committees and with our logistics group, plus helped lead my details as airman in charge during ORI’s/MRI’s and various other inspections.

I’m good I’ve bust my ass in my section being the lowest ranking airmen and taking up staff responsibilities to not receive a paper reward I got jack shit from it ‼️I’m done i had that “work hard” bullshit if they wanted too they would reward you it’s that simple
