I went on a date with a guy when I was younger, we were walking through a dark path, there was a man walking towards us and the guy I was with moved to the side of me, so it was him/me/stranger. I thought ok, then when we were past, he said “I got stabby vibes from him” so he’d essentially sensed potential danger and put my closest to said potential danger 😬 I put him on a bus and never spoke to him again.

I have been arguing about this for yearssss. All you have to do is actually look at the numbers women and children almost never survived disasters at the rate that men did. Actually it was the crew that survived they literally jumped ship before everyone else.

This is the type of scenario I always think about if there was an apocalyptic situation and women who are so adamant that their partner would protect them. 😐 If they were faced with several men who said give us the woman and join us or fight us, the man would hand the woman over in a heartbeat and do.just that. or run and save his one useless hide 🙄

it's not equality. Equality would be in two scenarios: if men also saved children and left themselves and women behind, or if women started dropping their children behind, to save themselves, and fought with men for free places.

It's sometimes called the "Birkenhead Drill". It's from 1852 when a troop ship, the HMS Birkenhead, hit rocks and the women and children were put into the lifeboats and most, if not all, of the crew sacrificed themselves. It's not and never has been maritime law, or any sort of emergency law, and personally, I'd never trust my safety to it. Ever.

to be clear they didn't save women because they're women, they saved women because they COULD be pregnant. it's never been about us it's always about the babies/children. it's why we don't get drafted, you can replenish the earth with one man, but you'd need a lot of women.

I\n Think men definitely have an instinct to protect a woman that they are with. Maybe not necessarily women, they don't know, but they are, it's incredibly common after mass shootings.\n Define shielding their wives and girlfriends with their own bodies, often The men are dead and sometimes the women survive the shooting because of it.It's quite common so you can't say men don't ever do that , because they do.
