State law states that the only way you can pass a stopped bus on the opposite side of the road is if there is a physical median! If it’s just lines, you HAVE to stop. ✋🏻

These laws exist for a reason. When i was in elementary, my bus stop was on a really busy road and there was an accident one morning, even without kids crossing the road. There was a drunk driver that was speeding, and ended up driving ONTO the sidewalk where the kids were, and hit one of them. She lost her legs. There was no kids crossing the road, which goes to prove that you NEED these laws for even then.

I can’t believe ppl trying to argue or lawyer it out oh come on it not a big deal. No it is a huge deal this is a safety concern with ppls children. There is no middle ground I don’t have children of my own but I would never want to be responsible for hurting/destroying somebody’s family.

“It’s not that deep!” “I still do it!” “The kids aren’t on that side!” 1. When kids get on and off the bus many of them have to cross the street because the bus only stops on one side, not both. 2. Just because you see “all the kids” on one side of the street doesn’t suddenly mean it’s safe to barrel past a vehicle packed to the brim with at least 10 more, if your tires slip AT ALL you’re endangering those kids. 3. Similar to the last point, but if a kid is running late and tries to run across the road to reach the bus before it leaves and you decide to barel past, guess what you just killed that kid. Every law exists for a reason, sure some of them are outdated and need to be looked at again, but ones involving the safety of children AREN’T UP FOR DEBATE unless buses get a redesign at some point where a look back at the laws become necessary.
