My babe was born with congenital hydrocephalus.. my ped blew me off for 8 weeks while I continually brought up her giant head. Then she sent us for an ultrasound to “calm my new mom nerves” (granted this was my 2nd kid). The ultrasound tech ran from the room. Radiologist told me I wasn’t allowed to leave until the neurosurgeon was paged to look at the images!!! Needless to say that pediatrician is no longer part of our team 😳

Sweaty made me think of salty skin which is a sign of cystic fibrosis. My friend took months to get her son diagnosed in the Air Force because the dr threatened to get her husband in trouble if came back. She went back and luckily had a Dr whose mom was a national expert on CF. Yep. What are the odds

Please make sure your pediatrician or endocrinologist looks into root causes. As someone who has suffered from thyroid disease, doctors are quick to prescribe medication which bandaids the problem, but doesn’t go deeper and look into why the body is attacking the thyroid.

My little guy had a sweaty issue and is still sweaty. He has hashimoto’s took two years of advocating but he’s medicated and STILL sweating the same.

That’s a shame! My kids pediatrician runs any test I ask for. She says mom instincts speak for a lot. And I’m so glad she does because my daughter had a pituitary apoplexy in October which caused broad hormone issues. When I requested a full hormone panel after her thyroid came back low she said sure. After her hormone panel came back abnormal I asked for an MRI of her pituitary gland and brain. She said sure. My daughter is having brain surgery to drain the cyst and biopsy any tumor that’s there in February. Hopefully your new doctor is great and trusts you and your instincts about your kid!

He is so beautiful!! I also cut off a doctor who told me it was nothing… she wanted me to have a full psych eval and work on losing weight. Got a second opinion and I literally have HASHIMOTO’S disease!! 😂 And a collection of other autoimmune diseases added on as the years passed. Good job advocating!!

thank god I didnt see this with my little guy he just had crazy sweaty hands and feet but he stopped but hes also diagnosed autistic and celiac before the age of 5 so there's that. 😅

My child was born with concerns and our peds dismissed. I kept going and he had 3 “rare” genetic differences that were actionable in treatment and follow-up….Always trust your gut. ❤️

I am so glad you got answers. I have had pediatricians play me off like that one did to you, oh it’s nothing, it’s normal. Makes me so mad! Then they wonder why we do our own research and don’t inherently believe what they say.

I have hyperactive thyroid so glad you got an answer and can address it! Is there any chance mom has undiagnosed Graves’ disease and could have passed antibodies during pregnancy those would be temporary for sweaty baby just an idea
