personally I use sea salt or pink salt if I'm using it to garnish aswell as flavor such as on pretzels or something but mostly for general salting (I know it's not exactly the same) I just use msg

One year I took my smoker and made a ton of smoked salt. Gave it out as Christmas presents, used it myself. Absolutely loved it. I also make spruce tip salt. I feel like those allow me to easily give my dishes flavors I just can’t achieve otherwise. Not necessary, but I wouldn’t be caught without them.
