ALL you need is Sarah Michelle and it won’t matter what you take because you’ll be prepared for either. I signed up for both and took ANCC because they contacted me first to be able to test, but I felt completely prepared for both. Boards was extremely easy after I went through SM! Go ahead and get the qbank subscription now and start working through the questions. I went through the q bank twice!!

I took ANCC, and AANP….. in NY some companies only want ANCC. I did board vitals every single question. ANCC the answers are literally in Barkley Spiral binder (you have to take the review course to get the binder) both tests are 3.5 hours 175 questions….Sarah Michelle I didn’t feel helped. BoardVitals to tier the questions are harder then the real exam and the rationale are so detailed. I also did Fitzgerald 500questions prep. And I did Frances videos on YouTube

I took AANP , did Sarah Michelle review . Took boards right after graduation and passed . The best tip I can give is to not only know your info but really work on your test taking strategies . A lot of people know the info but aren’t great at taking tests.

ANCC… continuing education for recertification does not have to be clinical hours practiced… can be teaching, educating and can still renew your license. Leik and Sarah Michelle were great.

I’m a Primary Care NP and I took AANP. Supposedly better if you’re going to be in clinical practice and I used Sarah Michelle to study.

ANCC simply because what I read at the time that was the most accepted credential but that may have changed since I took mine, I studied Barkley for about 3 months prior to my exam, passed on first try, and I told ABSOLUTELY NO NONE when I was testing not even my husband or family

AANP because they gave me the first test date. Passed on first try. I did Fitzgerald ( I took mine 10+ years ago) I took her review a year out the used the auto recording to listen to in the car every day for a year and didn’t need to cram last minute. AANP - I did the APEA review with practice questions. It was much easier than anticipated. Remember it establishes Basic competency. My CCRN exam was harder than my FNP exam.

AANP and Sarah Michelle also, YouTube video preps which were free and had questions that were actually similar to those in the board exam.

I took AANP and used the Sarah Michelle Prep prior… passed fist attempt. I opted for AANP because it was multiple choice and will give you ranges for lab values.

Ancc- some hospitals or places only take ancc certs. I used Barkley for test. Passed first time 👏

I took ANCC and I used Barkley and did the 2 day in person review course! Highly recommend! The course came with “readiness” prep tests that let you know if you were ready to take boards based on how well you did on them!
