@mauri.moca: Kusatsu Onsen’s Yumomi (湯もみ) ceremony, where local women in kimonos use large wooden paddles (yuoke) to stir and cool the scalding hot spring water (often over 90°C) with songs and dances, preserving its minerals and making it safe for bathing.
