having worked in Germany, I lived in Frankfurt. landed a job in 30 days was promoted to the position I wanted after a year. sometimes starting at the bottom helps more.

Imagine the struggle of finding work in smaller cities. I live in Neuss, and they say I can find an English speaking job in Düsseldorf. Apparently, in Düsseldorf, most jobs require an Ausbildung and also B1-C2 language. Some job portals would prompt an English speaking job but you must be fließend in Deutsch and then CAN also speak English. I can't move to Berlin, Hamburg or Frankfurt due to family reasons. So, goodluck to me 😅

It is very hard! I found a job 6 months after moving here in Frankfurt and live in Bavaria. Thankfully they allow me to work from home. It was very lucky as it is a global company otherwise they want you to speak German.

I was unemployed for over a year, was painful. Finally managed to get one as a UK account manager. Had a similar experience as you, applied only for jobs saying English, so many were then for German speaking roles…
