Throughout the Hmong history in China, over the centuries due to conflict and persecution by Chinese rulers it has been filled with fighting. The Hmong valued their independence and self-govern, protecting their Homeland, but the Ming and Qing dynasty wanted obedience, power which threatened the Hmong way of life. There were many times where the Hmong "Miao" people were put down for unrest. ------------------------------------------- Key Aspects of Hmong Military Resistance: Autonomous & Organized: Hmong communities in remote Chinese regions maintained autonomous structures and formed fighting groups when conflicts arose. Metal weapons: Spears, knives, and swords were common. The Hmong/Miao people were known for their skill in making bronze and iron weapons and armor dating back to ancient times. Crossbows: A significant traditional Hmong weapon, often using poisoned arrows for hunting and defense. Defensive armor: They used armor made from materials like buffalo hide, copper, and iron mail. Gunpowder weapons: During later conflicts, specifically from the late Ming and into the Qing dynasties, the Hmong became proficient in using and even manufacturing firearms, including flintlock rifles, cannons, and blunderbusses, often acquiring this knowledge from defecting Chinese generals or other sources. Over 70% of Hmong men were killed. The Hmong had organized forces, not a single "army" in the modern sense, but well-defended, often clan-based fighting units with armor, weapons, including gunpowder and strategies, fighting against Chinese dynasties in major rebellions like the Miao Rebellion, though they were ultimately overpowered, leading to mass migrations out of China into Southeast Asia during the 1800's. As Hmong, we shall never forget our history where we came from and the sacrifices our ancestors fought..😎 #hmong #hmongart #hmonghistory #ancientchina #hmongarmy

The ancestors of the Thai people were hill tribe people in China. When the Chinese invaded they had to migrate to Southeast Asia until they were able to establish a kingdom and a country. But why were the Hmong people unable to establish a country?

to be exact it was the Hmong/miaotzu fighting against the manchurians during the Qing Dynasty. Manchurians rebelled the Ming dynasty and became the Qing Dynasty. They then oppressed everyone even the Han people, I know this because my friend is Han and she said back then when the Qing emperor order to hunt down all hmong some of the other Chinese tribes were trying to hide the some of their hmong neighbors from execution and some had to give up their hmong friends to save their own family. Qing empire back then was by far the worse ruling era of China.
