#kpop #kpopnews #кпоп #кпопновости #NCT #NCTNews #SMEntertainment #SM #NCT10thAnniversary #NCTFleaMarket #NCT127 #NCTTaeil #kpopfyp #корея #kpopers #новостикпоп #kpoper I honestly don't even know how to present this news. Of course, it's no secret that SM has long seemed to care more about money than morals, fans, or their groups. But this is honestly a new low. Let's start with some backstory. As part of NCT's 10th anniversary celebrations, the group teamed up with Seoul Fashion Week. As part of the collaboration, they organized the NCT Flea Market — a charity market where personal items belonging to the members and stage outfits are being sold. And this is where things get interesting. Fans discovered Taeil's outfits among the items being sold. Taeil is a former NCT member who was removed from the group following a criminal s###al a###ult case and was later convicted. So yes, SM literally put up for sale items belonging to someone who is no longer part of NCT and whom the company has essentially been trying to erase from the group's history. But the most fucked-up coincidence here is something else. All proceeds from the market are supposed to be donated to projects and organizations supporting women, youth, and cultural initiatives. So selling items belonging to a person convicted of s###al a###ult at an event where the proceeds will, among other things, support women isn't even ironic. It's just bizarre. And of course, fans immediately started expressing their anger. Many believe that for fans, seeing these items can be an extremely uncomfortable reminder of someone NCT has been trying to distance itself from for a long time. As the story started going viral, some people said that if HYBE had been in SM's position, the backlash would have been even bigger. I understand that, technically, these are just clothes and stage costumes. But when we're talking about someone with this kind of history, the context completely changes. Especially when the event literally says that the money from these sales will go toward supporting women. SM, seriously. Out of all the things you could have put up for sale at this charity market, you chose THIS? And now, fans are demanding an explanation from the company and questioning why these items were included in a charity event in the first place.
