@stlzoo: Put your paws together for the first-ever African painted dog pups born at the Saint Louis Zoo! 🐾👏 The litter of four arrived on Dec. 26, 2025. Six-year-old mom Chewie and 7-year-old dad Anubis are the first breeding pair for this species at our Zoo! Chewie and her pups are doing well in their private maternity den behind the scenes. 💛 It will be several weeks before mom and pups make their way outside, but Anubis can be spotted in River's Edge where he is diligently standing sentry for his growing family!
