@ourplayfullhome: Not stimulation. Regulation. Babies don’t need lights, sounds, or buttons to develop. They need time, repetition, and space to settle into their bodies. They need tactile sensory experiences that aren’t overwhelming. Calm play isn’t boring. It’s foundational. #parentsoftiktok #openendedplay #montessori #toysforbabies #openendedtoys
I wanna do this so bad but everyone is telling me “I wanted that too it’s not possible” “they want toys with sounds” etc.. :(

i have half and half lol 😂 we do like a few minutes or add in one loud bright fun thing! because colors and noises etc while they can be overstimulating when available 24/7, they are still an important thing to incorporate!

I’m going to be phasing out all our loud, light up toys for simple wooden ones. J f noticed he’ll play with the electronic ones for a couple minutes then be done with it but his wooden activity cube kept him engaged for 30 minutes!

As a mom to a micro preemie baby, his eyes have nerve damage to them and every doctor and therapist has recommended toys that light up because he responds well to the stimulation.

I love this, and your page! Question, what do you do about family member buying you the noisy plastic stuff? I feel awkward telling them not to so I’m about to just store stuff in my garage to eventually donate 😅

Everyone else I know has bought light up toys and toys that make sounds meanwhile I have gotten my baby the most simple toys and they're soft so he doesn't hit his head and hurt himself.
