American here. We pay thousands of dollars per year just to have the ability to see our GP. We still have to wait months to see our GP and then we have to pay more at the GP for the visit.

Austria has a kinda mixed system. Public healthcare like in the UK(All is pre-paid for, but you wait) and the option to do it the french way (60-70% cash refund if you go private).

doctolib: need to wait for a few days esp if they're not your family doctor. In Asia, you just walk into any clinic/hospital. No appointment needed.
