imo, I think it all depends on the person. me and my husband (20 years married) don't send anything like that because we both know that each person does what they can. now if its something special that happened then we call with the news and celebrate that way. maybe this person should communicate with the other to let them know how they feel. its all about communication.

If that is what he needs from a partner, has he communicated that he needs it? Not everyone just knows to do that kind of stuff especially if something like that doesnt mean anything to them. Need to know your partner's love language

Not everyone is built like that. I say it to the people that I mean it. I let them know I love them. They don’t know how to say it back, but I know they do by what they do for me.

I wish with my whole heart, I truly wish to God, that I had a friend who would call me just to check up on me, someone who would say they love me or at least show that they care. But the truth is, I don’t have that. I have zero friends—no one I can honestly say is a real, true friend who genuinely cares about me. And because of that, I understand exactly how that guy feels. That kind of loneliness doesn’t just sit quietly—it eats away at you, slowly, until it feels overwhelming, like it could break you completely.
