i’m a lesbian and i have such a vivid memory of dancing at a club with my friend and then this sensation of “waking up” and realizing that we were surrounded by a circle of men watching us dance with each other and becoming so scared so fast when i was having fun just a moment before… it just felt like my entire experience as a lesbian had been bottled up into one moment

as a woman or afab in this society no matter what your sexual identity is you will always be sexualized and objectified then be shamed for embracing your sexuality, at the end of the day i’ve learned you need to completely rid yourself of allowing your personal worth to be affected by the views of others. and that’s absolutely not me saying to ignore the issues relating to the topic in the world but rather to remember that we can’t control others unfortunately and all we truly can do is love ourselves unwaveringly and show them that we don’t care and will continue to love ourselves

also whenever your videos come up I’m reminded I’m not crazy. because I most of my queer female friends are bisexual or pan and I love them but when I try to talk about lesbian specific problems it feels like I’m just trying to pity myself and creating my own problems or something

girl yes!! growing up I was so aware of the sexualization of women and lesbians by men, it physically disgusted me when I noticed it, or if I saw a female character that I knew was designed by a man for that purpose. But that also meant when *I* started to realize I was also attracted to women, I was disgusted with myself for being the same as those awful, predatory men (despite the fact that I was absolutely not experiencing attraction the same way most straight men do)

I literally thought lesbian was another word for a sexual predator but for women. I’d look up “lesbian” online and it’d get flagged that I was looking up something inappropriate because 90% of the content that came up was just 🌽.
