The confusion for me and I think a lot of us is when to use 이 and 가 vs. 은 and 는. I know it's for a new subject but there is also some instances where you can have hints it should be used like with 있어요 and 없어요, right? The option to remove or omit these particles actually makes it more confusing...😅

for nouns attach 이 with 받침 . use.가 if no 받침. the next word is adjective
