I saw Waterworld in the theater with my mom (she was a big Costner fan). When we got to the point where the were rowing the supertanker, she lost it and started laughing out loud!🤣 She seriously asked me if it was supposed to be a comedy and that just made it funnier. She was not impressed with the movie but it is a good memory for me(she passed a few years later).

Well, Last Action Hero should have been of been a hit. Being co written by Shane Black & directed John McTiernan. On paper it had box office hit. However the studio had other plans. it went through multiple script changes. The studio just kept meddling with the dailies. If they had just let John McTiernan do his job it probably would have been more successful.
