@dr.eheppe: Torn hip labrum rehab✨ here’s what’s helped me stay strong and mobile after tearing mine in a car crash ⬇️ Many people assume labrum = surgery, but conservative care can go a long way if you rebuild control + stability + mobility + strength. Here are the basics I focus on: 1️⃣ Straight leg raises Helps train pure hip flexion without letting the leg swing out (common after labral injuries). Great for control. 2️⃣ Balance work Labrum tears hate instability. Single-leg balance + toe taps help wake up the stabilizers and improve proprioception. 3️⃣ 90/90 mobility Rocking forward/back and side-to-side gives you anterior, posterior, medial & lateral joint mobility without forcing the capsule. 4️⃣ Hip flexor strength Clearing a dumbbell on the floor targets the deep hip flexors and small stabilizers around the labrum. (Progress slowly this one gets spicy🌶️ ) 5️⃣ Nerve glides Especially helpful for that “pinchy” feeling in the front of the hip. This combo keeps my hip strong and mostly pain-free day to day. Not medical advice just what’s worked for me personally. #hiplabraltear #labrumtearhip #labrumrehab #labrumrecovery #hippainrelief

tore my labrum playing soccer. Did PT and now doing 8 weeks of these type of exercises at home. feel good. only pain comes from unexpected fast twitch movements. really hoping I don't need surgery.

My body has been guarding like mad since 2024 when they found a fiberous Fibrous talocalcaneal coalition... which then started the chain reaction after one side compensating for so long until I could get orthotics... started having sciatica pain this year and low back pain and severe hip/groin pain... PT made it worse... finally got an MRI. Mild disc bulges L5-S1 and dun dun dun... a cyst with a labral tear (all on the right side) Sitting hurts, walking feels unstable, I can only sleep on my back with large pillows under my knees/legs 😭 I dont know where to start! Its like my body wont let me relax it and it gets freaked out so I csnt strengthen anything or ill get immediate nerve pain.

I had surgery in March for torn labral tear and hip impingement and I am still struggling to be 100%. I have worked with my PT post surgery and prior to surgery he made custom orthotics for me and have been wearing Hokas to help with pronation in this foot however I feel super unstable when not wearing them or doing anything outside of just walking. Any little thing seems to cause issues. Suggestions for improvement? I just want to feel good again and stop worrying about my hip but can’t figure out what to do to move forward

Can a torn labrum cause femoral nerve and piraformis problems? I didn’t have surgery and my hip isn’t too bad. I just have more troubles with the nerves.

Ok so what do you do if they’re both torn? And you have zero idea what you did…

I have a torn hip labrum and have struggled with it for a long time. I’ve contemplated surgery after trying PT for 6 months, but going to try these.

I am in the exact same situation as you. But I’m a swimmer and need to fix this asap. I’m meeting with my ortho surgeon soon. Should I be open to surgery?
