@chowder27: Hereditary Hemorrhagic Telangiectasia (HHT) is a rare genetic blood vessel disorder that affects how your blood vessels form. People with HHT are born with fragile blood vessels that can form abnormal connections called AVMs (arteriovenous malformations). These can show up in the nose, lungs, brain, liver, and other organs. One of the most common signs of HHT is frequent nosebleeds — not just “sometimes,” but often daily or multiple times a week. Other symptoms can include iron-deficiency anemia, fatigue, shortness of breath, headaches, and unexplained bleeding. Some people don’t even know they have HHT until later in life, even though it’s something you’re born with. HHT is inherited, meaning if one of your parents has it, there’s a 50% chance you might too. It’s not caused by lifestyle, diet, or injury — it’s written into your DNA. There’s no “cure,” but there are ways to manage symptoms, reduce risks, and live a full life with the right monitoring and treatment.
