Also it comes down to mental schemas and display rules. Even if men and women are exhibiting the same behavior the perception is different bc of the already existing mental schema. For example an emotional man might be branded as passionate or aggressive instead of emotional the way a woman would

Yes - this really played out in my long term work life. Men were strong leaders when showing anger, they received respect. I as the female counterpart was labeled as emotional and a ….. ! Even by other women, this is the patriarchy at work -
