What you’re pouring off from washed grits is the residue from grinding the corn. So, you’re not really cleaning the grits, just pouring off fine pieces of grits🤦🏽♀️Lawd .

My mother always cooked her grits the night before so they would congeal over night & slice it like pie we ate sliced grits & a slice of bacon for breakfast every morning. I was grown before I ate them warn. I still prefer cold sliced grits.

Girl, I wash my grits too!!!! My Grandma told me you ALWAYS to wash the grits because it removes all the husk of each kernel and trash.

Your grits look soupy. If I use less broth, would it still work? I like thicker grits. My nana’s grit casserole is thicker and what I’m used too. I like these flavors though!
