i think he’s just missing the iconic part of his career but i think that comes with time. he just doesn’t have one that has that iconic score like a jurassic park or a jaws or a star wars.

John Williams….. don’t think so and here’s why modern-day movies are not writing film schools the way that John Williams wrote film scores. Modern day, Hans Zimmer yes, and he’ll be better than Hans, yes, will he have more accolades than John yes. But talking strictly from my music perspective unless he changes his sound. John Williams is the last of the dying breed.

Ludwig is really talented but he has yet to make a truly iconic score where the music is equal to or even surpasses the movie. both John Williams and Hans Zimmer has made such scores, so in my view he's not quite up there yet but he's much younger so he's got a lot of time left.

John Williams will never be surpassed. Williams work has transcended Oscar recognition. Williams work has created a level of musical recognition that has created pop culture. The general public instantly recognizes Williams’ work and knows not how it may have come into their consciousness: Jaws, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Jurassic Park, Superman, Harry Potter, Close Encounters. This is NOT a debate. Ludwig is a great talent; but cannot be included in the same conversation as Williams (or Zimmer or Shore, etc)

so happy to see this, his scores are unlike any other working today, he’s got a way of building atmosphere and is always a vital piece of the world building for the films he works on. only thing he doesn’t have over williams is the melodies and use of tone/dynamics. williams is still the goat of film scores, but goransson will certainly leave his mark when it’s all said and done
