I’ll disagree here to an extent. The concept of gossiping as a bad thing was heavily used against women talking facts about bad men. You can say it’s gossiping but at the end of the day it is information and you might have done the wife a huge life changing favour right there and then just by saying what everyone else was thinking anyway. Not a great career strategy but doesn’t make you a bad person as you hinted at towards the end. Food for thought.
