You forgot to add business tax which is 19% plus 8.75% dividend tax which gives you 27.75% as opposed to 20% tax if you just expense the salary away from profit

one has other benefits and rights, and the other doesn't. I've seen contractors be dismissed overnight with no pay whatsoever simply because the business didn't need them anymore.

You forgot corporation tax all business owners have to pay it on profits unless they pay them self all their earnings as a wage.

Better for business owner take a salary as overall tax paid will be lower... ie corporation tax plus dividends is higher total tax than taking the £50k as a salary
