Perfectly legal, it's actually encouraged to enter early if it helps traffic flow, you must not enter if they are solid white lines

I've found time and again people believe you can't cross the line and even sound there horns at me when I do. You can if your side is a broken white line. The other thing that annoys me is bus lanes when car drivers avoid them. Not all bus lanes are 24 hours and you can drive in them sometimes. I've got full HGV-PSV licence so am well qualified
