In their defense, their old system was unsustainable. Most people would just pay rent on the card, get the 1% and then buy 5 bananas to get the 5 transactions

1. It is unnecessarily confusing. And maybe that’s by design. 2. They want to lock you into their ecosystem. But if you have other cards, the value of BILT drops like a rock.

I’m canceling my BILT card not worth anymore, I have my Amex and Chase. The rewards of Bilt don’t even compare enough for the annual fees, and the rent points were the incentive but now it’s gone. The new “Bilt cash” is terrible

To be clear, you’re not getting charged the 3% fee still. But you won’t get points from rent unless you spend 75% of your rent per month on other transaction which is ridiculous

the worst part is that they don’t let you float the rent payment on your credit card anymore. that short term liquidity was a major part, now it debits rent from your bank account. so pointless

On the new set of cards this is not true. There is no 3% fee for rent payments. Ensure you have your BILT rent payment account set up correctly.

The fee is bad enough but the big missing thing is it’s no longer credit for rent. It doesn’t float. So you need to do an ACH. That means even if you don’t keep it February you need to pay double rent
