You’re allowed to be a mother and work. They have to consider it they can’t turn you down on the spot.

Best of luck! I’m staying full time but spreading the year of accrued holidays I earned on mat leave 1 a week for 6 months to only work 2 shifts a week but with full pay! Then I’ll decide wether to stay full time or request part time and in that time I’ll have accrued 6 months worth of full time holidays too 👀

Even if they say no, go through union and make your case. I requested less hours and set days after maternity and got declined straight away, went through union and within a month I was back at work, the days and hours I wanted. Unfortunately sometimes you have to put up a fight, you got this!

Look into formal statutory flexible working request if you can. Also find a way to show that you doing reduced/ set days won't impact the department you are on. Be clear with your strict hours and what you are willing to compromise on. point out that this change has been done for your child/childcare responsibilities. It can be so difficult and daughting but you have got this mama 💕 xx

When worked shifts I advised of a day that I absolutely couldn’t work due to childcare in the week and requested split shifts. It meant I usually worked one day on the weekend but it worked out well. Side note- where is your lovely scrunchie from? 😍

If they regret your FWC thy have to give you reasons as to why they’ve regretted it and you can appeal

Reduced mines last time to the minimum, want to give up my weekends but then it means I’d be on shift with the fun police 😩 very miserable environment

I’m dreading it, mines next week. Struggling for childcare before 8am! Her nursery doesn’t open until 7:45 and my shifts are 7:30🫠 and I want to go part time 😅😅😅😅

My trust had a formal flexible working application I had to fill in and get approved by HR etc. Yours might too 🥰 if you are breastfeeding at all there may be other things in your trust to support you aswell. For example I didn’t have to go back on nights because of this ☺

I did the same after my first maternity. Just have to be clear with what you would like and your reasons for it. For example, I wasn't prepared to have my baby in childcare all week. My employer agreed. Good Luck!

I’m dreading going back after mat leave, I’ve started up a business meaning I shouldn’t have to go back full time or even at all xx
