And definitely if your doing both sides anyway, it makes it a cake job to just take the assembly off and do it upright, makes going back together a breeze vs trying to hold that hub straight while you slide the hot outer bearing in place and get bolted up. I also just flip an idler wheel upside down and set the one side back into it, makes it nice and sturdy to work on

Get a small deep fryer with some hydraulic oil to heat your bearings up!

Don’t use a torch, get an old oven, a toaster oven anything. Hang the bearing in a pail off oil and heat!

This is what I made, put a porta power fitting on a hydraulic cylinder, made a heavy plate that bolts on where the hubcap does, just use the cap as a template. Welded plate right to the end of the cylinder rod. Can also use a heavy all thread instead of a cylinder that’s what I had in the service truck when I was at Cat

Deep fryer works better but if you dont have that get a metal coffee can put hydraulic oil in it open your big enough the can sits steady use the torch under can to heat bearing
