the cost of doing it twice is probably cheaper than the fines

As a facility guy, fire inspector doesn’t care, he wants it done now so you will be back in the spring to redo it…

People don't understand business work and certainly don't understand compliance work. It just needed done - put the fries in the bag and theyll order another bag when it's warm. This is the perfect situation and you just take the work

If the fire department finds them for not having proper markings, it’s gonna be way expensive than repainting it in 4 to 6 weeks

As business owners we’ve definitely paid for some things knowing they were just temporary fixes. As long as you told them what to expect, then you’ve done what you needed to do. Just follow up with them when it starts looking like crap again and get another job out of it.

I don't like the idea of a business complaining about a job they were paid to do.

Threats of fines and or closure will be the main reason why the job will be done again. They are aware and most likely will be contracting the job again later with the company.

I would’ve wrote up a contract that clearly states this job is a temporary fix and your company would be back out when the weather clears up and there’s optimal conditions. I would also include the price for a permanent markings so there’s a full understanding of the scope of work. If you recommended not doing the job because of salt temp and weather a judge could rule you the contractor should’ve known better as noted on your contact and hold you accountable.

minus the temperature, why not just include the prep work in the quote? like if you need the salt and dust removed, include it in the quote and then give it the best chance? I understand the temp being too cold is a problem and then have them sign something saying they understand do to weather and temperature there is nothing they can do to stop it?
