@trial_trackers: In court, the defense questioned an active shooter trainer about how officers are trained to respond during an active shooter situation. The trainer testified that officers are taught to run toward the gunfire and stop the threat, even if they’re alone — and he held firm when asked about alternative tactics, stressing the priority is stopping the killer first. This testimony comes from the trial of former Uvalde CISD police officer Adrian Gonzales, who is charged with 29 counts of child endangerment and abandonment connected to the May 24, 2022 mass shooting at Robb Elementary School, where 19 children and two teachers were killed. Prosecutors allege officers failed to act quickly enough while the shooting was ongoing. Gonzales has pleaded not guilty. #Uvalde #AdrianGonzales #RobbElementary #Courtroom
