![[ THINGS TO DO ] AUSTRALIA’S FIRST WINTER OLYMPIC GOLD MEDALLIST NOW RUNS A BREWERY AND SPORTS BAR RIGHT ACROSS THE ROAD FROM SUNCORP STADIUM Last Man Standing is the brewery and sports bar co-founded by Steven Bradbury, who became Australia’s first ever Winter Olympic gold medallist at Salt Lake City in 2002. It moved into the former Newstead Brewing site on Castlemaine Street in 2025 and is Queensland’s biggest independent brewery, with the capacity to make 6 million litres of beer every year. With Suncorp Stadium directly across the road, it is built for game day, and the kitchen backs that up with share food made for a crowd. THE SIGNATURE PLATTER 🥩 The board: sliced rump steak, fried chicken, mac and cheese croquettes, salt and pepper calamari, brisket sliders and tallow fries, served with a range of sauces. 💰 The price: $105 for two or $185 for four. 🍟 The tallow: everything fried is cooked in 100% Australian beef tallow. 🐄 The steak: all the steaks are grass fed. THE BREWERY AND THE BAR 🏅 The founder: Steven Bradbury won the 1000m short track gold in 2002 when every skater ahead of him crashed on the final corner. 🍺 The scale: a brewery with the capacity to make 6 million litres of beer every year. 📺 The screens: giant screens across a huge industrial space, set up for game day. 🏟️ The location: Suncorp Stadium is directly across the road, so it is an easy stop before or after the footy.
