@chomyathsu: Q: Why do some objects float and others sink in water? Explanation: (Part-1) -All objects have weight, so they are pulled downward by gravity ⬇️. -When you put something in water, the water pushes it up. -This push is called upward force (also called upthrust or buoyant force) ⬆️. So now there are two forces: Weight → downward ⬇️ Water push (upward force) → upward ⬆️ 🟢 If the water’s push is greater than or equal to the weight, the object floats. Upward force ⬆️ ≥ Weight ⬇️ → Object floats 🔴 If the weight is greater than the water’s push, the object sinks. Weight ⬇️ > Upward force ⬆️ → Object sinks. However, it is difficult to measure upward force easily in practice or directly in school lab, so we use density to decide whether an object will float or sink. #Grade10 #grade11 #physics #floatation #Archimedes' principle
