If you weren't bullied as a kid for being a nerd, you aren't a real nerd. That said, David Corenswet was definitely bullied as a kid. Nerds are allowed to have a glow up as adults. They stay nerds because of those formative years where they weren't at the top of the hierarchy.

As a nerdy girl myself, one thing that really bothers me is if I start a conversation about a shared hobby, it feels like I end up getting talked down to. Especially if I’m like 70% in (so still very knowledgeable) but the guy I’m talking to is 100% in. If you’re not as much, if not more, knowledgeable on the subject, it feels like you get treated as if you know nothing at all :(

What I got from that conversation was that she asked a conversation starter, but instead of turning it into an actual conversation, that dude just went off and monologud for half an hour, and at no point asking her for her preferences.

I'm a nerd too. but sometimes some people when they like something kind of "steamroll" you. and it becomes less of a conversation about things you like and more of a scary torrent you can't turn into a conversation.
