I have literally never had a dentist try to sell me services before the cleaning. Go in, hygienist does X-rays and cleaning and then dentist comes in and looks at the X-rays and does an exam and then they might tell me if I need something

My daughter went to a new dentist out in California. She was told that she needed two root canal’s and filling three cavities. She told them she needed time to get the payment together. We sent her to our family dentist while she was home for a visit and she had two tiny cavities. She reported them to the California board.

Had a dental hygienist tell my daughter she had a cavity( she has sealants) my daughter said that’s impossible but ok. Dentist came in and said great job no cavities. Hygienist think they know more than doctor..

usually the Dentist does the exam and the dental assistant (I forget their actual title) does the cleaning. my assistant person sees me more that my dentist.

I had a dentist I trust who retired before I could get the work done. Whoever I go to next, I'm walking in with his list and telling them "if you say anything is worse than this, too bad. I'm not listening." I'm thinking of going to the university dental school, because if you get a resident, they've already graduated but they still have to get a double check signoff before doing anything.
