@newsnexussa: The Independent Development Trust (IDT) has confirmed that Chief Executive Officer Tebogo Malaka will resign effective 31 January 2026, following months of controversy linked to an R836-million oxygen plant tender. The IDT said Malaka will leave without any exit compensation, adding that the terms of her departure remain confidential. Malaka was precautionarily suspended in August 2025 after investigations uncovered alleged irregularities in the procurement of oxygen plants intended for public hospitals. The scandal deepened after video recordings surfaced showing Malaka and an IDT spokesperson allegedly offering R60,000 in cash to Daily Maverick investigative journalist Pieter-Louis Myburgh in an attempt to stop reporting on the matter. Public Works and Infrastructure Minister Dean Macpherson subsequently laid criminal charges, while both criminal and civil investigations remain ongoing. The IDT has reiterated its full cooperation with law enforcement authorities. 15 Jan 2026 #southafricatiktok #newsstories #incaseyoumissedit #newsnexussa
