This argument involves that God would have to have a definite beginning. In Christianity the argument is that God is beyond time, so he does not have a beginning, therefore he does not have a creator because there was never a time that God did not exist

Do you think an infinite regress is an issue in general metaphysically? I for one do. I will begin by saying I agree, I don’t think the fine tuning argument as it is commonly portrayed is the most effective. But I will say, if you agree that an infinite regress is severely fallacious in general, is the indivisibility problem of matter also an issue for you. And the necessity of an infinite regress of contingent things? Or am I misunderstanding you. Curious to hear your thoughts

God was not created, God lives outside of time. Not everything needs a creator. Only things that begin to exist need a cause. If God is being proposed as the ultimate explanation of reality, then God is not something that began to exist. God would be the uncaused reality.
