Unless you absolutely have to, I'd avoid close cut fitting, always good to leave some space.

All that room in that pipe.Why would you cut so close today that bell , why wouldn't you leave room in case you ever got a cut that off or put a double in something like that doesn't make sense.I knew this was amateur hour.The second I saw him measure down and pushes fitting up tight to the elbow
