@undpnigeria: In Southern Kaduna, a young entrepreneur is helping to redefine Nigeria’s food systems, one innovation at a time. Daniel Usman, has built a growing agribusiness focused on minimizing post-harvest losses and creating nutritious, locally processed food products. His product line includes mushroom tea, flour meals like Amalavita and a range of spice blends, all sourced directly from Nigerian farmers. Daniel’s work supports local producers, improves access to food and creates jobs across the agricultural value chain in and beyond Kaduna. His long-term goal is to turn waste into value and food insecurity into opportunity. Through the Young Africa Innovates Programme, Daniel has gained mentorship, peer support and technical guidance to scale his innovation and connect to Nigeria’s wider innovation ecosystem.
