In Belgium we also say “Room”, “Crème” is more like a ointment. And I think they mean the thing you can eat here, which is “Room” in Flemish…

Adding a Frysk speaker to these would enhance it a lot, it is spoken primarily in the Netherlands, but is closer related to English

in Flemish Dutch we use both crème and room for cream. crème would be for the cream you use on your skin, while room is for the cream you use for cooking.

A lot of kn- words in English have kn- in Nordic languages, but we still pronounce the k.
Knock - knacka, knife - kniv, knot - knut, knight - knekt (different modern mening, but same root word)

The word knife stems from the Viking times where Nordic countries would say words like kniv, vindue glas and so on. And the English took some of those words and over the centuries they transformed in to today’s words. Knife, window and glass.
