@cleoabram: We actually don’t know why ice is slippery. Seriously! We know that there’s a tiny liquid layer that acts as lubricant on the surface of ice and that lets us slide across it, but scientists have been debating where that layer comes from for two centuries. Now, there’s a new theory…For more, follow along! DOI: https://doi.org/10.1103/1plj-7p4z #Ice #Science #Technology

So you say ice is not slippery untill we interact with it?

ice is slippery because its smooth, just like a smooth flooring, particles don't move around here

When you pour water on tiles, the tiles becomes slippery because of the reduced friction. Shouldn’t that be why ice is slippery too? Little to no friction and water on a smooth surface.

Millions in science and we still don’t know why ice is slippery. Are you kidding me?

Oh I thought it was just the lack of friction?

You have to walk a certain way 🤔 and you don’t slip so much, unless there is an inclination. Wonder if that matters 🤷‍♂️

it's basic physics friction is made it heats up a little very thin amount of it melts and you slide on the water

I don't think this is correct. Ice gets much easier to walk on in colder temps, which wouldn't have an effect on the electrical charge.

It was water before it doesn’t just become not water when it freezes that’s lay a water stayed on there instead of freezing no need for electrons or whatever anymore in this
